Attorney – Masaya Hayashi
Masaya is the founder and principal attorney of Chaperon Patent & Law Office, with significant experience and expertise in scientific research, particularly in biotechnology and chemistry. This background allows him to accurately assess clients’ innovative technologies and provide optimal support in protecting and enforcing their intellectual property rights.
He represents clients in court for litigation related to patents, trademarks, and copyrights, and handles procedures such as trials and oppositions before the Japan Patent Office. In addition, he provides comprehensive representation in a broad range of intellectual property matters, including patent applications.

Biography
During his university studies, Masaya conducted experimental research specializing in molecular chaperones. Afterward, he moved to the United States, where he conducted estrogen-related research and later pursued advanced studies on mitochondrial molecular chaperones in graduate school. Upon returning to Japan, Masaya shifted his focus to law, working as a patent attorney at an international patent firm. He later passed the bar exam and began practicing as a lawyer, ultimately establishing the current firm.
Masaya leverages his significant experience and specialized knowledge to offer legal advice tailored to the technical needs of his clients.
